1200 Calorie Diet Plan

Just as the name implies, the 1200 calorie diet restricts the dieter to these many calories per day. Just think about how many calories a fast food meal contains. You can easily take in this many calories eating a breakfast meal that includes a breakfast sandwich with egg and bacon with hash browns and orange juice, and that is just breakfast. If we rethink breakfast, we can make this work by having a ½ cup of skim milk and a cup of Special K cereal and then a ½ cup of light orange juice. This will run you about 40 calories for the milk, 55 calories for the half-glass of orange juice and 110 calories in Special K cereal with berries. This would be a much better choice and the total calorie count is 205 calories with just 995 to go.

There is a new saying when it comes to consuming meals¸ it goes like this: Eat like a king for breakfast, a prince for lunch, and a pauper for dinner. Going by the breakfast we just ate, we still have some room to do a great lunch meal that is filling and will get us through to dinner time. For lunch, a great Caesar salad with chicken breast, dressing and croutons will run 377 calories. Now top it off with a diet soda and your belly is full until dinner.

The tally so far is 618 calories left, so we can fudge a bit with a snack before dinner. On the drive home, let's stop by McDonalds and get a fruit yogurt parfait, this will run 160 calories and is a tasty treat. Now that we are on the way home¸ we can run by the store and get a Health Choice Chicken Teriyaki meal that is just 360 calories that includes apple crisp, broccoli, and rice with chicken teriyaki in sauce.

Based on this menu, it is possible to stick to a 1200 calorie diet and eat well during the day without feeling deprived. Next time you need to lose a few pounds, sit down and make yourself a menu of foods that will help you achieve your goals in conjunction with exercise. Stick with it and watch the pounds melt away.
