Are
Treadclimbers Worth The Money?
If
you have some funds to spare, investing in a cardio machine
for home use is really a great idea. Keeping fit and trim and
taking care of your health is a MUST. With so many gym equipment
on the market nowadays ranging from treadclimbers, elliptical
trainers, stationary bikes to treadmills, it can get confusing
what you should buy. In this article am going to discuss about
treadclimbers and are treadclimbers worth the money?
You've
probably seen the high cost of purchasing a treadclimber like
the Bowflex Treadclimber TC20 for example which costs $3,299.
Not everyone has the luxury to buy this piece of innovative
and high-tech cardio equipment. Everyone has their opinion what's
worth or not depending on their needs and income. For me personally,
I think a treadclimber is worth it if you have the money to
spare, if not, you'd be better off with a cheaper cardio machine
like a treadmill or stationary bike. But money is not everything,
it also depends on your requirements and goals. Some people
enjoy running on a flat surface like a treadmill while others
prefer climbing stairs or cycling but there are also those who
like using various cardio machines. This is where a treadclimber
comes in.
A
treadclimber incorporates the movements of a treadmill, a stair
climber and an elliptical trainer thanks to the two pedals,
so you'll be getting a triple workout. A treadclimber can enable
you to burn more calories like 300-700 calories in 30-45 minutes
simply by walking, in fact you can start feeling the burn within
the first five minutes. Of course calories burnt will be dependent
on your workout intensity and duration. A treadclimber can boost
your calorie burning by at least 3.5 times than that of a treadmill
at the same speed. Here is a comparison chart between a treadclimber,
a treadmill and a stair climber and calories burned in 30 minutes:

Another major benefit of a treadclimber is it's easy on the
knees, shins and ankles since the landing is softer than on
a treadmill for example, so there is less strain on your joints
and ligaments.
Exercising
on a treadclimber just 3 times per week for 30 minutes per session
can yield great weight loss results as well as providing several
health benefits as follows:
(1)
Increased stamina and energy levels
(2) Faster metabolism
(3) Increased bone density lowering osteoporosis risks
(4) Reduced back pain
(5) Increased HDLs(good cholesterol) preventing cardiovascular
diseases
Final
Verdict
Personally,
I find a treadclimber less boring than other cardio machines
as you can run, experience the feeling of stair climbing as
well as being on an elliptical trainer machine. Even though
a treadclimber is more expensive than other cardio machines,
I believe it's a worthwhile investment if you can afford it
of course. Over time all the gym fees you have paid could have
been invested in a treadclimber and at least you know you've
owned something from your investment instead of simply getting
a workout from your gym membership.
The
Bowflex Treadclimber TC20 is a sophisticated gym equipment and
if you have the means to purchase it, then go for it. Another
option available is the Bowflex Treadclimber TC10 which is cheaper
at $2,199 but equally good.
