Bodyweight Exercises To Lose Weight

Bodyweight exercises are one of my favorites for building a lean muscular physique and to lose weight as well. It's pretty amazing that with just your own bodyweight, you can perform a number of exercises without much equipment or none at all. Bodyweight exercises help in toning your muscles and burn fat as well. Most bodyweight exercises are compound movements that is working more than one muscle group at a time. This is highly beneficial for people who want to lose weight as since they solicit several muscle groups at once, these exercises are usually more demanding. They also recruit more muscle fibers hence boosting testosterone levels in men and stimulate your metabolism. The end result you shed fat and weight faster.

Some of the most popular bodyweight exercises include but not limited to normal push-ups, diamond push-ups, decline push-ups, pull-ups, dips, squats, calf raises, lunges, skipping rope. The great thing about these exercises is just performing a few of these can give you more or less a total body workout. The following muscle groups are worked - chest, triceps, biceps, forearms, back, trapezius, shoulders, legs, calves, glutes. Some of these exercises like decline push-ups, dips and pull-ups will require some equipment like some solid chairs and a pull-up bar. A pull-up bar can be easily fixed.

If you want to use these bodyweight exercises to lose weight, perform high-intensity workouts. For instance 20 repeats of push-ups, 30 seconds rest, another 20 repeats of push-ups and so on, 5-10 pull-ups, 30 seconds rest, another 5-10 pull-ups, 25 squats, 30 seconds rest, another 25 squats. Perform these exercises properly in a controlled fashion and feel your muscles really working. Do as many repeats and sets you possibly can.

To make these exercises even more challenging for burning fat, try doing bodyweight superset exercises. For example, after doing 20 push-ups, don't rest but immediately perform 5-10 pull-ups then repeat with push-ups again then pull-ups etc... Superset exercises are best used with opposite muscle groups since you don't take any rest. Push-ups work mostly chest and triceps and pull-ups mostly back and biceps.

Don't underestimate the power of these bodyweight exercises for shedding fat. These bodyweight exercises to lose weight will be the basis of your training because once you decide to take your workout to a new level by lifting weights, you'll already have an edge.
