Metabolism
and Weight Loss
Everywhere
we look, society is telling us that being young and thin is beautiful.
In the aisle of every grocery store there are magazines full of
beauties that mirror images of bodies would kill for. Women continue
to be in denial about the baby weight they gained 15 years ago
and have ignored it or worse yet, packed on more weight. Weight
loss attempts time and time again have been snuffed out by disappointments
of weight gain and depression. Weight loss aficionados have come
to find that metabolism goes hand-in-hand with weight loss. We
will discuss why metabolism is so important to weight loss and
what you can do to change your metabolism and have success with
your weight loss efforts.
Metabolism is important because this is what is going to help
your body burn fat. Everyone is not the same and each person has
a different metabolism. This explains why different diets have
different effects on individuals on a case-by-case basis. Depending
on what type of metabolism you have, you may or may not have a
great result with a low carbohydrate diet versus a high-protein
diet. It all varies and is according to how your body reacts to
what you put in it.
For example, a teenager at the age of 18 is able to burn off more
fat than a menopausal woman at the age of 45. Why is that? The
reason the teenager is able to burn more fat is because the teenager's
body burns fat more efficiently than a 45-year-old menopausal
woman. These two people would not go on the same diet plan. A
teenager could probably just lose weight by cutting back on calories
and exercise more whereas the 45-year-old woman doing the same
amount of work would probably lose less weight because of hormonal
imbalance in the body which affects metabolism, i.e. a decrease
in metabolism during this phase of life. A recommendation for
this woman would be increased exercise of more than three times
a week, dietary supplements to aid in weight loss, as well foods
that aid in weight loss.
In order to change your metabolism, it is important to understand
where you are in terms of your metabolism. Do you lose weight
quickly or do you hold onto weight? If you have problems with
losing weight, it is likely your metabolism is slow and you will
need a little bit more help. Natural foods such as grapefruits,
grapefruit juice, leafy vegetables, apple cider vinegar, cayenne
pepper, and supplements for weight loss such as green tea supplements
can aid in boosting your metabolism. These products are all natural
and can help when it comes to accomplishing your goal.
If you think that metabolism and weight loss are not connected,
then you have been misinformed. It is vital that you increase
your metabolism in order for the body to burn more fat cells.
It is as simple as this, burn more fat to lose more weight.
